About us
DUSTY is an ethical jewellery & accessories label run by two sisters, Cilla & Dusty, from Wellington, New Zealand.
The girls work with craftsmen across the globe to create beautiful & unique, high quality pieces.
Each piece tells a story. These crafts are centuries old, and the artisans have taken years to train to become weavers, ceramic makers, metal workers, wood workers - they are masters in their crafts
All products are ethically made by people who work in conditions that are comfortable to them (free range > factories), get paid what they deserve and ultimately are happy doing what they do.
Most pieces are one of a kind so if something grabs your eye you should snap it up before it’s too late.
Giving Back
Our first drop of stock is from Bali, a place that we have spent a lot of time in throughout our lives and a place that has always felt like a second home to the two of us.
During these trips we spent a lot of time with the locals and were able to see life from a different perspective. Often we would be hanging with families and had a glimpse of life through their eyes..
Bali was also where we first witnessed extreme poverty. Mothers with young kids begging. People in obvious distress needing but unable to access healthcare, and helpless stray animals trying to survive in urban centres not built for them.
To act on our words and values of giving back we will also be donating 10% of all profits from all DUSTY products to the Bali Street Mums Project. We’ll be making these donations every second month and will share updates with you all on the impact your money is making in the lives of Bali mums and their children.
As we grow and source products from other countries, we commit to establishing a similar partnership with other non-profit organisations in those countries. We are ambitious but gotta dream big right?
